Department of Civil Engineering had organized a certification course on “Advanced Surveying with Total Station & DGPS” from 25th April to 29th April 2023 for the students of 2nd year with an objective of imparting adequate working knowledge on surveying using Total station instrument. Mr.M. Dinesh, Senior Engineer, AMIGO Artificial Intelligence & Geoinformatics Private Limited was the resource person. Students learned how to use the instrument and its various applications to perform on field. Students learned how to perform different operations for taking various measurements viz., distance, angle measurements. They learned how to determine area of a given selected region using Total Station, followed by how to transfer the data in PC and complete the drawing in AUTOCAD. In overall, Students got a brief idea about the component parts, its operations, and advantages of Using Total Station. In addition, Mr. E. Ravichandra, Director, AMIGO Artificial Intelligence & Geoinformatics Private Limited also demonstrated students on usage of Digital Levels and how now a days utilized for surveying purpose. Around 50 students get registered for this certification course. Mr. Venkat Sai Prasad, Assistant Professor, Civil Department, was the faculty coordinator of this event.
