Sustainability is the future of construction! Department of Civil Engineering has privilege of organizing a one-day workshop on Green Innovations in Construction in collaboration with Chettinad Cement Pvt. Ltd. and the IGBC Student Chapter at KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology.
The session was led by Faculty Coordinator Mr. G. Ravi Kumar, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Mavul Rao, AGM, Chettinad Cement Pvt. Ltd., who shared invaluable insights on sustainable building materials, energy-efficient construction practices, and the latest green innovations shaping the industry.
Dr. Soumya Sucharita Singha, Associate Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) - Civil Engineering, addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of the workshop. A special highlight of the event was the visit of Chettinad Cement’s Mobile Lab Vehicle, which provided students with a hands-on experience in cement quality testing, material analysis, and advanced construction technologies. It was an incredible opportunity to bridge theory with real-world applications!
