Journey of Exploring with 3D Printing Technology: A Personal Story
I am Rakesh Goud Appala, a Mechanical Engineering student at KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology (KGRCET). My journey with 3D printing began in the second year of BTech when I faced challenges in prototyping the project components. Although I had the designs ready, I needed help to bring them to life to test the mechanisms. It was frustrating not being able to see my ideas materialize.
Then, I discovered 3D printing technology, which completely changed my approach. The ability to rapidly prototype using PLA material, known for its low cost and efficiency, was a game-changer for me. Finally, I could transform my designs into physical models, allowing me to precisely test and iterate on my projects.
Fast forward to the present, and I am now using three different 3D printers with two distinct technologies. Each machine serves a specific purpose, from intricate detailing to rapid prototyping with various materials. My knowledge and experience with 3D printing have grown significantly, enabling me to experiment and push boundaries in design.
I am also incredibly proud to serve as the President of the 3D Printing Club for 2023-24 at KGRCET. Under my leadership, the club has thrived, and we were honored to receive the Best Emerging Club award at the institute level this year. This recognition has fueled my passion for innovation, and I am thrilled to be part of a community shaping the future of engineering and design.
Being at KGRCET has been an empowering experience. I look forward to continuing my journey, pushing the boundaries of 3D printing technology while inspiring others to explore its endless possibilities.
