The Department of Civil Engineering, KG Reddy College of Engineering & Technology (KGRCET), successfully organized an online guest lecture on "Overview of Railway Engineering" on March 8, 2025. The session was delivered by Mr. B. Mahesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, Hyderabad, who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Osmania University.
The event was coordinated by Mr. M. Rathna Chary, Assistant Professor, CE, and was specially designed for Civil Engineering students to enhance their knowledge of railway infrastructure, planning, design, and operations.
The lecture, held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in an online mode, covered fundamental aspects of railway track components, alignment, signaling, and modern advancements in railway engineering. Mr. Mahesh provided an in-depth understanding of railway network expansion, safety measures, and sustainable railway development in alignment with global engineering practices.
This guest lecture was mapped to the Program Outcomes (PO1, PO2, PO3, PO6, and PO10), ensuring that students gained critical insights into technical problem-solving, design considerations, environmental impact assessments, and communication skills relevant to railway projects.The Department of Civil Engineering extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. B.
