Department of Civil Engineering has organized a guest lecture on the topic “Overview of Groundwater Management “on 21-09-2022 to our final year students of the Department of Civil Engineering, KGRCET. The eminent expert Prof. K GAUTAM NARULA, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, had been invited to deliver the lecture. He explained to the students about groundwater management strategies, initially he started with an introduction to ground water movement, where he discussed the difference between Groundwater and surface water along with, understanding the need of Groundwater to the process involved in monitoring the Groundwater by the sequential order with a series of follow up of steps like Groundwater VS Surface water, Challenges related to groundwater management, Reason of missing groundwater management, Tools to monitor groundwater and what to monitor followed with Case studies, Further more explained management of Groundwater by China Sponge City in addition to Managed aquifer Recharge case study in Rajasthan
