The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is immensely proud to announce a landmark achievement in the academic journey of our institution. In a remarkable display of interdisciplinary excellence, 22 students hailing from various engineering streams have successfully completed the rigorous IUCEE–NEP certification course on Quantum Computing. This specialized program, conducted in collaboration with IBM Qiskit and facilitated through the Center for Engineering Education Development (CEED), represents a bridge between classical computing paradigms and the futuristic potential of quantum mechanics. As the world stands on the precipice of a new technological era, our students have positioned themselves at the forefront by mastering the foundations of an emerging frontier that promises to redefine how we process complex information.
This success is particularly significant as it marks the inaugural cohort from our institution to receive formal, hands-on exposure to Quantum Computing. In a field where the learning curve is notoriously steep—requiring a deep understanding of linear algebra, probability, and quantum gates—these students have demonstrated exceptional intellectual curiosity and technical proficiency. By utilizing the IBM Qiskit framework, they have moved beyond theoretical concepts to engage with real-world quantum programming, gaining insights into qubits, superposition, and entanglement. This initiative aligns perfectly with the National Education Policy (NEP) goals of fostering multi-disciplinary research and equipping the next generation of engineers with "future-ready" skills that transcend traditional departmental boundaries.
The Department extends its deepest gratitude to the Heads of various Departments, the Principal, and the Director for their visionary leadership. Their unwavering support and constant encouragement have been the driving force behind creating an environment that prioritizes beyond-classroom learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Lakshmi Bhavani (CEED/ECE) for her dedicated mentorship. Her instrumental role in guiding the students through the intricacies of the course was vital to this high success rate. This milestone not only enhances the academic profile of our students but also strengthens our institution's reputation as a hub for cutting-edge technological education. By embracing such advanced domains, we are fostering a culture of innovation that encourages students to look beyond the horizon of conventional software development and explore the limitless possibilities of the quantum world.
