Department of Civil Engineering in association with Green Construction Club and WOW, ITC Limited had organised a “One Day Workshop on Well being out Of Waste- a Step towards Circular Economy” on 15th June,2023. Mr S N Umakanth, Chief Manager, Head of WOW, ITC Limited was the resource person in the workshop. Around, 100 Students of Civil Engineering Department from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year had attended this workshop. In this workshop, Speaker gave complete details of recycling of different wastes and how can an individual avoid throwing waste on roads. Moreover, Speaker made all the participants to take a pledge to keep our environment clean and green. Speaker also mentioned the individual responsibility should be carried out by each citizen of India to keep our country clean and green. Mr. Umakanth SN Umakanth given the awareness about the importance of source segregation and recycling. Furthermore, he delivered that how proper segregation reduces the amount of waste going to landfills while the dry waste collected provides competitive raw material to several industries,
e.g. glass, paper and plastic. Rag-pickers and waste workers also earn higher and more regular incomes.
